2014 proved to be a whirlwind of success for Derek Ryan, the Co. Carlow artist, received several awards including “Male Artist Of The Year”, as well as setting off down-under for his first international tour in September. With a huge concert tour coming up, including dates in the UK in the Spring, 2015 is will be a huge year for the country star!

The singer/songwriter shows no signs of slowing down in his career, with a number one album under his belt, as well as an award winning tour, we wonder how he finds time to perform up to five nights a week to packed dance floors and sold out concert halls at home.

Derek’s most recent album, “The Simple Things” which topped the Irish charts, includes hit singles, Scottish favourite, “Will Ye Go Lassie Go”, “Flowers In Her Hair” and “Hold Onto Your Hat” featuring Sharon Shannon. The young heart throb has previously had success in the UK with his single, “100 Numbers”, released last year.

“I love what I do”, said the ex D-side member, “It is tiring don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t do it without my fans. I know everyone always says that, but it’s true, not only do they buy the records – they keep me going! That’s why I love meeting my fans coming off stage, it’s like I’m putting faces to names I see coming up on my twitter and facebook all the time!”

Derek is currently on “The Simple Things Concert & Dance Tour”, which includes a mix of old favourites, classic country and Derek’s own original material. After a huge call from the mainland to return, Derek is coming back to the UK, where he will be staying for an extended and extra special concert tour. After being named this years “Performer Of The Year” this is one concert you do not want to miss! The dance and theatre tour will be kicking off in April, with dates right into May – so make sure you are able to catch Derek when he comes to a venue near you!
