Excitement is growing among Irish Country fans in the Cookstown area as the Parents and Friends of Cookstown Primary School prepare to host Derek Ryan live in concert on Thursday 20th November.

The concert is being staged to help provide much needed facilities for the Autism Specific and Learning Support Classes. Derek Ryan has generously agreed to donate a significant proportion of the ticket sales to this worthy cause, while Elite Security is providing the door staff and back stage security team.

Last week, Derek made a special visit to Cookstown Primary School, to meet some of the students who would benefit from the fundraising concert, as well as the schools show choir who will be performing a song with Derek on the night.

The students and staff welcomed Derek into the school last Thursday afternoon with open arms, giving the Carlow country star a tour of the school, including the Autism Specific and Learning Support classes, the area of the school which will be benefiting from the concert.

The concert which will be staged in the schools main hall will be an all seater event. The venue boasts enviable facilities, with a huge stage and an extra screen being erected for fans further down the hall, so fans are guaranteed an amazing experience. There will also be a raffle taking place on the night of the event, where fantastic prizes are to be won, including a brand new guitar, signed by Derek himself (below).
