Scottish Tour 2019 and Weekend of Dancing in Dumfries
Derek is returning to theatre venues across Scotland with The Ten Scottish Concert Tour 2019. A huge name in the country music scene with chart-topping albums, self-written hit singles, hundreds of live tours, and fans on a global scale, Derek and his fantastic band (now rated as Ireland’s leading country band) play a mix of shows each year across Ireland, Scotland, England, Mainland Europe and the US.
Balancing huge demand from dancehall and theatre audiences with his constant desire to create new music, Derek has released ten best-selling studio albums – with his latest award-winning album aptly named TEN including the hit songs Hayley Jo, Ya Can’t Stay Here and Honey Honey (featuring Glasgow’s own Lisa McHugh).
But not only is Derek bringing his hugely successful TEN Tour to Scotland, he is also holding his first ever ‘Weekend of Dancing’ in the Cairndale Hotel & Leisure Club, Dumfries on the 15th and 16th November. Derek will be joined by an array of special guests, including Scotland’s own Brandon McPhee and other huge names in the Irish country scene – Louise Morrissey, Olivia Douglas and the popular BBC Radio Ulster presenter Hugo Duncan.
Derek admits there is nothing like performing to Scottish crowds, as he has just released his latest Live CD and DVD filmed in the Eden Court Theatre, Inverness as part of Derek’s last visit.
