Derek Ryan has been teasing his fans for the past week about the release of his highly anticipated single ‘Heaven Tonight’. His daily posts of lyrics on Twitter and Facebook for the song have intensified anticipation for the release of his new original song this Friday 23rd June.

The Carlow singer songwriter has just returned from a week long writing session in Nashville with some of the capital of Country’s biggest writers.

‘Heaven Tonight’ was written with Trent Willmon who has written many songs for artists such as Brad Paisley, Eric Church, and Blake Shelton amongst others.

As well as writing, Derek guested and performed at the famous Bluebird Café and met a number of country greats at the Grand Ole Opry, including Connie Smith whose debut hit ‘Once a Day’ was a worldwide smash.

Derek has become a regular visitor to Nashville, having recorded an album last year and is planning another trip in the coming months.

Irish traditional band Goitse guest on Derek’s new single and bring a real contagious energetic feel to song. A sound that has had ears pick up in Nashville with great interest in the collaboration which is very much a sound they are not used to.

‘Heaven Tonight’ is released through Sharpe Music and is available for iTunes download from Friday 23rd June 2017.
