The sensational Irish Country Singer Derek Ryan has received some excellent news today, as his new album ‘One Good Night’ has gone straight to the top of the Irish album chart. After one week on release, the amazing new album held off international act Iron Maiden and finally knocked Ed Sheeran off the top spot. ‘One Good Night’ is now Derek’s second consecutive number one album.

With 15 tracks carefully chosen by Derek, this eagerly awaited album by fans is his 6th studio album, made up with a mix of his own self penned songs including new single ‘Bendigo’, with some country favourites and current hits, with bonus track, ‘Shut Up and Dance’.

Speaking of the news this afternoon from his County Carlow home, Derek has expressed his gratitude to those who have helped him get to where he is today.

“Every artist wishes to top the charts, and doing it with two albums in a row – the dream is coming true! I am thrilled for both my own success and everyone else’s success who worked on the album. Obviously, I couldn’t have done it with my very dedicated fans – this one is for you!”

Raymond Stewart from Sharpe Music congratulated Derek on his achievement and said it was only a matter of time before he became number one.  Raymond also confirmed that the album was one of the fastest selling cds his label has released.

Derek will be celebrating the success of his new album with a very special concert in Cork Opera House tonight – the first time Derek and the band have brought the award winning tour to the outstanding theatre, and this is sure to be ‘One Good Night’! To continue the celebrations, Derek will be taking the stage at the Mount Errigal Hotel tomorrow and again at the Four Seasons, Monaghan on Sunday.

‘One Good Night’ is a fifteen track album available through Sharpe Music and via iTunes download.  Further information is available at derekryanmusic.com
