Ireland’s biggest selling newspaper, The Sunday World, held their annual award ceremony last night, to celebrate the talents of Irish country music artists.

The awards were presented by Eddie Rowley & Fr.Brian Darcy in The Mullingar Park Hotel, and showcased an array of Irish talent. With performances from the top names in country music, the awards were a huge success and provided great entertainment to the audience.

This year, the award for “Best Live Performer of the Year” was awarded to Co. Carlow star Derek Ryan. The “100 Numbers” singer was overwhelmed with his award and tweeted this picture (above) along with the caption “Delighted to have been awarded live performer of the year at the Sunday world country music tonight!”

Derek has been on the road for over two years now, touring Ireland and the UK, and has put in a lot of work to get to where he is today – and this award has proved it.

Well done Derek!
