Derek Ryan’s brand new EP ‘It’s All Country’ is OUT NOW and is said to be Derek’s most personal and creatively ambitious project to date.
Witten, recorded and produced in Nashville, Tennessee where Derek immersed himself in the city’s renowned songwriting culture, working with some of its most respected musicians including Nashville royalty and Grammy winning producer for Cody Johnson’s ‘Til You Can’t’, Trent Willmon.
“Nashville is like nowhere else in the world. Every corner of the city is alive with music and storytelling. Being there pushed me to dig deeper, to write songs that celebrated storytelling, while still keeping the Irish country sound that my fans have come to know and love,” said Derek.
The four track EP blends authentic Nashville production with Derek’s signature Irish country style. Its title track ‘It’s All Country’ celebrates Derek’s own journey. “This song is a nod to where I come from and where I’m going. It’s about how country music, whether Irish or American, connects us all through the stories we share,” Derek explains.
Other tracks on The Nashville EP include ‘Guinness My Girl Goodbye’, ‘Wild Wind’ and ‘A Song For The Road’.
Just recently, one of Derek’s most memorable gigs was performing at Áras an Uachtaráin as part of the President of Ireland’s special celebration recognising the impact of Irish country music and entertainment.
Having been inspired by his songwriting time in Nashville, Derek has also just announced his brand new acoustic “Derek Ryan: The Songwriter Show” tour, an intimate run of concerts across Ireland and the UK where Derek will strip back his biggest hits and share the stories behind them. “These shows are a chance for me to connect with my fans in a really direct way. Just me, my guitar and the songs which have shaped my career to date,” Derek said.
