Having had a whirlwind year packed full of touring, television and radio appearances as well as a few self penned singles Derek Ryan is set to release his new album ‘The Simple Things’ next Friday 29th August.
With 15 tracks carefully chosen by Derek, this eagerly awaited album by fans is his 5th album, made up with a mix of 5 of his own self penned songs including ‘Hold on to Your Hat’ ‘Flowers in your hair’ and ‘The House that Jack Built’ combined with some favourites it is sure to contain something for everyone.
Since the release of his last album Country Soul, last year Derek has picked up awards all across Ireland receiving “Best Live Performer of the Year” from the Sunday World and was also honoured to be awarded with “Album of The Year” for his fantastic fourth album, Country Soul, by Irish Country Sound. His success has not stopped there with his album, “The Entertainer”, charting at number 7 in the Irish charts not to mention his last single reaching No.2 in the UK iTunes country charts in the first week of its release. Derek also received an award earlier this month from the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) for his contribution to song writing.
With TV appearances on BBC, RTE and TV3 this year as well as Hot Country and the Phil Mac Show along with appearances on radio stations and a concert tour throughout Ireland including a memorable concert at the prestigious Olympia Theatre with guest Sharon Shannon, things just keep getting better for him and it doesn’t stop here. Derek has answered the call from fans down under as he prepares to set of for a tour of Australia this September.
